Howard and his wife Sandy have lived in Loveland since 1976. They have three adult children, all living in Colorado. Their two grandchildren fortunately also live in Colorado.
Howard has been in education from 1970 to 2007. He was a teacher in the Denver Public Schools, an assistant principal and principal in Fort Lupton, an assistant principal and principal in the Thompson School District (Loveland High and Ferguson High), and then a facilitator for Aims at the Weld County and Larimer County High School Diploma programs.
Volunteering at the House of Neighborly Service and Lago Vista, plus leading a church small group and playing euphonium for the Loveland Concert Band (and on their board) keep him busy doing what he loves: working with people and serving them.
Howard occasionally skis, hikes, watches athletic events, officiates basketball, and reads. He also enjoys travelling. He continues his quest for designation as “grandfather of the year” (self-nominated).
