More Information
K - 12
We opened with K - 9 in our first year, K - 10 in our second year, K - 11 in our third year, and expanded the high school to K - 12 by the 2014 - 2015 school year.
Classical and Core Knowledge
Loveland Classical Schools is a classical school, which we define by focusing on three things: Great Books, the trivium, and character education. In other words: great works, great teaching, and great people.

Loveland Classical Schools employs the nationally recognized Core Knowledge sequence from kindergarten through 8th grade.

LCS is a public charter school; therefore, we do not charge tuition.

Unique Teaching Structure
Each teacher teaches his/her specialty and passion! We build the students’ education by having experts teach them. Students in 1st through 5th grades stay in one classroom while the teachers travel to the students. Each class is 45 minutes long, ensuring each subject ample time through the year. Departmentalization has many benefits.

All LCS students are offered at least one language at each grade level.
Spanish: K – 3 grades (required)
Latin: 4 – 8 grades (required)
German, Greek, Latin, Spanish: 9 – 12 grades (optional)

Math Program
Singapore Math
Loveland Classical Schools utilizes the successful Singapore math program. Singapore has consistently performed well in the TIMSS international math assessment. Students in Singapore have ranked number one in 4th and 8th grades in three out of the last four times the exam has been administered.

LCS’ phonic-based literacy

The LCS’ literacy program is a phonics-based approach, founded on Dr. Samuel T. Orton’s work 120 years ago. Our approach to phonics-based literacy teaches students the foundational sounds made by letters and groups of letters.

Character Education
A cornerstone of our instruction is developing personal character in our students with the purpose of making morally conscientious citizens.
Uniforms/Dress Code
Our dress code policy serves to uphold the vision and mission of the school, minimize distraction, and encourage learning by cultivating an atmosphere of discipline, equality, and respect. Parents may purchase clothing that meets our dress code standards from a variety of local and online retailers.
