Swing Dance Club
Led by high school junior Riley Scott and senior Caled Al-Adsani, the Academy Swing Dance club meets weekday mornings and gives students the opportunity to learn the basics of several different styles of dance.
Exploring Dance Styles
Swing dancing dates back to the 1940s and encompasses many different styles of dance. Although the club’s name suggests that they only practice traditional Swing dance techniques, students who participate in the club also learn styles such as Salsa and Jazz dancing. While the club is solely for fun, those who participate can often be seen showing off the moves they have learned at some of the school dances held throughout the year. Their 7:15am meeting time also means that they get their blood flowing early in the morning, better preparing them for an active day of learning.
