The LCS middle and high school has been bustling with activities this past week. As the holiday season draws nearer, LCS’ various clubs, groups, and classes are going the extra mile and demonstrating the skills they have learned as well as the wonderful character they have developed so far this year.
Expressions of Talent and Gratitude
The Volunteer Club made dinner for the firefighters at Station 2 (across from the Academy campus) last Saturday in order to thank them for protecting our school and city. Students each made their own dishes and ate dinner with the truck and engine crews! On the other side of the city, the Madrigal signers performed under a sea of lights at the Winter Wonderlights festival at Centerra. Sophomore Cameron Tallis wowed the crowd with his fire juggling skills while the singers performed Renaissance classics. Following the excitement from the weekend, students were able to admire their classmates’ artwork during the Academy art show. Pieces created throughout the year were displayed in the learning commons all week to give students, parents, and staff the opportunity to admire their hard work. After perusing the artwork, the LCS community was treated to performances by the instrumental music and choir groups during their winter concerts.
