LCS Lion's Roar: Monday Merge - Feb. 26, 2021

Monday Merge

For the first time in nearly a year, the Academy parking lot of was full of cars on a Monday. Mondays, this year, have been an online learning day with the rest of the week split between student cohort groups – Maroon and Gray. This was part of the COVID-19 mitigation plan which helped keep students and staff alike safe while keeping the doors open for in-person learning.Improving state and local numbers and the effectiveness of the school’s safety measures combined to allow the Academy to take its first step toward fully in-person instruction 5-days a week. On Monday, for the first time this school year, Maroon and Gray cohorts merged to attend classes on the same day. Classmates, who had not seen each other since last year, were reunited. Classes were kept separate to reduce interactions, but those classes approached sizes that the Academy hasn’t had since last year.It was a landmark day for the Loveland Classical Schools community in terms of milestones and planning. But to be there, on this Monday, and to see the human side of it felt… healthy.
