Every month, Lyceum students in grades 3-5 are challenged to create artwork with a specific theme. They can then enter their unique artwork into the Art Contest conducted by Mrs. Ray for the chance to have their work displayed on the bulletin board by the Art Room!
October’s challenge was for the students to use their imagination and skills to create a piece of art depicting what AUTUMN meant to them.
Students were encouraged to create a picture inspired by fall using the warm colors. This could include trees, leaves, weather, change in the landscape etc. Students were able to use any media of their choice including pastel, crayon, colored pencil, paint etc.
The first place winner of October’s Art Contest was 4th grader Makayla Kelly.
The second place winner was 3rd grader Julia Mott.
Tying for third place was the two-person team of Irenea Thye and Timree McArthur (left) and an individual submission from Elizabeth Baranovic (right), all from 4th grade.
Great work to everyone who participated in October’s Art Contest!
