David Hetrick

Latin and Greek Teacher
High School

Dr. Hetrick is very happy to return for his third year at LCS, teaching Latin, Logic, and Rhetoric. Originally from Eugene, Oregon (go Ducks!), he lived and studied around the U.S. before moving to Loveland. Dr. Hetrick is excited to be able to teach Latin not only as a fabulous window into history, but also guiding students towards proficiency in Latin as a viable, living language. He continues to underscore the relevance of the classics to LCS students, not only for students’ careers, but also for life more broadly.

In his free time, Dr. Hetrick enjoys spending time with his wife and two cats, traveling, listening to music, tinkering with Linux, enjoying television and movies, and being a lifelong, avid reader. He continues to strive to enjoy as much as possible of the beautiful Colorado outdoors, whether hiking, biking, or snowshoeing.
