Emily Addington is thrilled to be joining LCS staff as a 3rd grade English teacher. She holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree from Colorado State University in English with a concentration in Literature and a minor in Linguistics. As a member of the Honors program at CSU, she completed an Honors Thesis titled Reader Engagement in Classical Schools, which enabled her to research the methods of several English teachers from local charter schools and gain an even deeper appreciation for the role of the classical educator in a modern world. She also had the opportunity to study abroad at Oxford University, where she focused on both Shakespeare and Gothic Literature within one-on-one tutorials with an Oxford Don. In addition, her passion for teaching English as a second language led her to study Arabic and subsequently travel to Morocco to teach English at a university.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, traveling and painting. Her art is nearly always inspired by the beautiful nature found in the mountains, and she’ll never pass up on opportunity to read to her nieces and nephews.
