Heather Alverson

Science and History Teacher
Grade 1
Extra-Curricular Sponsor: Camp Invention

Mrs. Alverson received her degree in Elementary Education from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee. She has been married for twenty-one years and has four children of her own—one boy and three girls. Her oldest graduated from LCS in May, her middle two are twins are freshman in high school at Berthoud High, and her youngest is in third grade here at LCS.

Mrs. Alverson taught preschool for several years early on in her marriage. When her twins were in first grade, during LCS’s inaugural year, she volunteered often in their classroom. Volunteering and being in the classroom, seeing and experiencing classical education firsthand, reignited her passion for teaching and desire to be back in the classroom. Mrs. Alverson has been a Classroom Coordinator at LCS for four years and was hired as an elementary science teacher for the 2016-17 school year. She is excited to be in her fourth year of teaching at LCS.

In her free time Mrs. Alverson enjoys painting pottery and doing just about anything that is crafty. She is a thrift store junkie and loves the thrill of the hunt and finding a good deal. She enjoys animals and her pet menagerie includes a cat, a dog and six chickens and Mr. Alverson’s pet Python. (Bleh!) For the record, she is not a snake fan!

This will be Mrs. Alverson’s eighth year at LCS. She is excited for another amazing school year.
