Mrs. Alverson received her degree in Elementary Education from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee. She has been married for twenty-three years and has four children of her own—one boy and three girls. Her oldest graduated from LCS in 2019, her middle two children are twins and they are juniors and her youngest is in sixth grade this year.
Mrs. Alverson taught preschool for several years early on in her marriage. When her twins were in first grade, during LCS’s inaugural year, she volunteered often in their classroom. Volunteering and being in the classroom, seeing and experiencing classical education firsthand, reignited her passion for teaching and desire to be back in the classroom. Mrs. Alverson was a Classroom Coordinator at LCS for four years and was hired as an elementary Science teacher for the 2016-17 school year. She is excited to be in her sixth year of teaching at LCS. She currently teaches first-grade History and Science.
In her free time, Mrs. Alverson enjoys painting pottery and doing just about anything crafty. She is a thrift store junkie and loves the thrill of finding a good deal. She enjoys animals and her pet menagerie includes a cat, a dog, and Mr. Alverson’s pet Python (Bleh!). For the record, while she may be a Science teacher, she is not a snake fan!
This will be Mrs. Alverson’s tenth year at LCS. She is excited for another amazing school year.
