Mrs. Alverson received her degree in Elementary Education from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee. She has been married for nineteen years and has four children of her own—one boy and three girls. All of her children are students at LCS.
Mrs. Alverson taught preschool for several years early on in her marriage. When her twin daughters were in first grade, during LCS’s inaugural year, she volunteered often in their classroom. Volunteering and being in the classroom, seeing and experiencing classical education firsthand, reignited her passion for teaching and desire to be back in the classroom. Mrs. Alverson has been a Classroom Coordinator at LCS for four years and was hired as an elementary Science teacher for the 2016-17 school year. This year she will broaden her teaching repertoire by teaching History and Science in first grade. She is excited to be in this new role.
In her free time Mrs. Alverson enjoys gluten-free cooking, reading recipes and trying them out on her family. She also enjoys painting pottery and doing just about anything that is crafty. She is a thrift store junkie and loves the thrill of the hunt to find a good deal. She enjoys animals and her pet menagerie includes a cat, a dog and six chickens.
This will be Mrs. Alverson’s sixth year at LCS, and she is looking forward to this being the best year ever for the LCS.
