Joy Dowdy

Math Teacher

Mrs. Dowdy grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 1988. After college, she performed time and motion studies and wrote labor standards for an aerospace company. Mrs. Dowdy has taught all levels of secondary math from pre-algebra through calculus as well as algebra-based physics. She taught for 11 years in private schools and homeschool settings prior to coming to Loveland Classical. In 2010, she completed her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction through Colorado Christian University. She received an ETS Recognition of Excellence for her mathematical ability in 2011. Mrs. Dowdy lives in Loveland with her husband, one of their two sons, and two dogs. Mrs. Dowdy has been with LCS since year 1.
