Elizabeth Ansell

Art Teacher

Ms. Ansell is delighted to begin her fifth year at Loveland Classical Schools and 2nd year teaching Middle School art. Museums and art studios have been her sanctuary since she was a child, where she would merge her interests in history and creativity. She pursued her formal studies of art and art history at the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Bachelor of Arts in art history in 2006, and a Master of Arts in art history from the University of North Texas in 2009.

She has spent several years volunteering in museum collections, anthropological conservation departments, and teaching K-12 summer art education programs. Prior to joining LCS, she taught art appreciation and art history at the Community of College of Denver from 2013 to 2018. Originally from Galveston, Texas, she has made Loveland, Colorado her home since 2011, and in 2017 joined LCS, where she loves sharing her excitement for the liberal arts and facilitating student-led discovery.

Ms. Ansell spends her free time with her husband and daughters reading books, exploring museums, hunting for bugs, hiking and biking, painting, building, and generally enjoying the abundance of Colorado’s open spaces.
